Meet Ray Segev. She is a confident and beautiful woman from Israel. Segev is a fashion blogger and a curvy model for Alembika. On her blog Ray Plus she empowers many, including myself. She is a fiercely real role model. I love that Segev is proud of her body and promotes a positive body image. Fiercely Real Role Model Awards: Whitney Thompson

Whitney Thompson is my favorite winner of America’s Next Top Model. In cycle 10 she inspired many girls and women watching the show. After ANTM, Whitney ventured out to do major fashion projects and supporting the National Eating Disorders Association. The supermodel was named their ambassador in 2010. I love that Whitney is speaking up against eating disorders as thousands and thousands of girls struggle with body image.  Whitney is for sure a Fiercely Real Supermodel and Role Model.

Fiercely Real Role Model Awards: Chanel Iman

Chanel Iman is a young supermodel that has accomplished so much in her modeling career and continues to rise. Aside from modeling Chanel is committed to assisting organizations in Los Angeles.  The supermodel is most passionate about The HerShe Group Foundation, an organization that empowers and mentors girls living in foster care.  Chanel also donates to Arise Christian Center and has been involved with St. Jude’s Children's Hospital Foundation.  Congratulations Chanel! You are a Fiercely Real Role Model.

Fiercely Real Role Model Awards: Tyra Banks

Tyra Banks is a woman that wears many hats and she wears them all very well. She is unstoppable! The supermodel empowers millions of youth with her talk show and through America's Next Top Model. Tyra continues to inspire many including myself. She has supported the Dream Foundation, Yele Haiti Foundation and  TZONE as seen in the photo above. I love the style of the campaign shirts. She looks fabulously fierce in the campaign photo. Tyra has earned her Fiercely Real Role Model Award. Keep up the great work!

Fiercely Real Role Model Awards: Kate Moss

Kate Moss has supported various charities such as Elton John AIDS Foundation, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Comic Relief, War Child, Make Poverty History among other fabulous charities. In 2010 when I saw Kate wearing this amazing strapless recycled mosquito net dress in support of  Sports Relief's campaign against malaria I was touched. Malaria kills millions of children around the world... I think that Kate did a great job raising awareness about malaria for the campaign. The mosquito net dress was designed by William Tempest. Kate is not only a Supermodel but an ambassador for social change. Today we salute Kate for being a  Fiercely Real Role Model.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary Mayor Nenshi

Happy anniversary to Calgary Mayor Nenshi! On this date last year, I along with other committed Team Nenshi supporters campaigned on the streets of Calgary, AB. We were handing flyer's and Nenshi for Mayor buttons in c-trains, schools, sidewalks, churches...etc. It was all worth it! Nenshi is now our mayor. I'm off to celebrate with Team Nenshi tonight. Our mayor has done a great job this past year. In my books he gets an A+ He might also receive a Fiercely Real Role Model Award. Stay tuned!

Fiercely Real Role Model Award: Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell and her boyfriend Vladislav Doronin were in NYC on Monday to attend the "Angel Ball" by Gabrielle's Angel Foundation. As some of you may know, the supermodel has had some bad press in the past. However, when it comes to supporting charities she leads with example. Naomi has also raised millions of dollars for "Fashion for Relief" a fundraiser for Haiti. I appreciate her passion for supporting vital causes. Naomi wore Alexander McQueen. She looked very posh. Congrats Naomi! You are a Fiercely Real Role Model.

I had fun modeling for Cat's Eye Vintage Boutique in Calgary. Awesome photoshoot! They carry a variety of trendy plus size clothing 14+. They are having a Halloween Costume Extravaganza this month! If you're in Calgary, AB go check them out. They have lots of unique pieces to choose from too.

No White After Labor Day?

I remember the first time that I heard this, I thought it was a western cultural respect thing... Instead, it simply meant not to wear white in the fall or winter because the color white is a summer color. Do you wear white after Labor Day?

Plus Size Model Sunday Omony: Where I Shop

In this video I talk briefly about where I like to shop. I love unique, trendy plus size clothing that look great on my shape. If you're a plus size woman don't be afraid to wear clothes that hug your curves. Its not about your size, its about showing off your style and beautiful shape.
